Will there be a Polar Park season 2?
The director and creator, Gérald Hustache-Mathieu, teases the sequel…
It’s a character he’s followed for years. The novelist David Rousseau, played by Jean-Paul Rouve In Polar Parkwas first born in the film Poupoupidou in 2011, before being brought to the small screen for Arte.

“When I think about what I want to do next, what comes straight away is that I want to find them again, both David Rousseau and Gendarme Louvetot, but also these actors”he told us last March, during the Séries Mania festival. “It’s exciting, this idea of being able to put them in different situations, in different adventures. Gérald Hustache-Mathieu clearly has ideas for the sequel and the creator admits that his novelist has everything of a perfect recurring hero in a crime series. He reveals to us that TF1 was even interested, for a time, in making him the figurehead of new units. “They had seen the potential of the duo, of these Sherlock and Watson that form David Rousseau and this gendarme. I realized that I hadn’t exploited it enough at the time of Poupoupidou…”
Gérald Hustache-Mathieu will certainly have the opportunity to dig a little deeper. Her Polar Park was an audience hit on Arte. The first three episodes attracted 1.6 million viewers last Thursday. The last three will be seen this evening. The series will remain available for a few more weeks on Arte.tv.
