Zootopia 2 Beats Frozen 2 to Become Disney Animation’s Biggest Hit

A symbolic record has just fallen: with $1.5 billion in worldwide revenue, Zootopia 2 officially becomes the biggest animated success of all time for the Walt Disney Animation studio.

It is now engraved in the account books of the big-eared firm: Zootopia 2 is the highest-grossing Disney animated film in the studio’s history!

With $1.5 billion in global revenue, Zootopia 2 takes the number one spot of all time at Walt Disney Animation and surpasses Frozen 2 which had held this record since 2019 with 1.45 billion on the clock.

In detail, the sequel posted 333 million dollars in North America and 1.12 billion internationally, confirming undivided domination during the holidays: during the Christmas weekend, for its fifth week in theaters, the film experienced a new spectacular boost, adding an additional 87.9 million dollars.

The symbolic billion, Zootopia 2 had already reached it in just 17 days, becoming the fastest PG-rated film in history to reach this milestone.

But it is especially in China that the phenomenon is taking on an extraordinary scale. Where Hollywood has been struggling for several years, Zootopia 2 triumph: more than 500 million dollars collected on the Chinese market alone, a level never reached by an American film.
