Jérémie Renier and Karim Leklou are shooting the new series of the worship director

“In France, we have no oil, but we have ideas,” laughs the synopsis of Eldorado.

Created by Tarek Haoudy And Nacim Methar (66-5) and made by Louis Farge (Worship), the series Eldorado features the duo of cesarized actors Jérémie Renier And Karim Leklou. Immersed in the 1970s, the six episodes tell the romantic epic of a Belgian aristocrat passionate about science and an ingenious television repairer. Together, they will do everything to convince the powerful Elf Aquitaine group that their new invention makes it possible to detect oil.

In this 6×52 ‘series, Louis Farge explores behind the scenes of our industrial history against a background of black gold, politics and megalomania. Intended to be broadcast on Arte, Eldorado transported us in 1976, three years after the first oil shock, when the Belgian count Arnaud de Toledo (Jérémie Renier) and his faithful partner, Florindo Bonamici (Laurent CAPELLUTO) Develop a new technology to radiograph land layers. Unfortunately, the economic crisis is felt and the lack of financial means is likely to jeopardize the exploitation of the invention. Elf Aquitaine, a giant of oil extraction, is ready to do anything to perpetuate French competitiveness. “Because in France, we have no oil, but we have ideas”, specified the press release then.

Seduced by this new concept which would allow him to achieve his goal, the team embarks on a incredible adventure. Léo Sarda (Karim Leklou), a young manager from Elf, the Count’s daughter (Clémentine Fargeas) and Emma Zenatti (Marie Colomb) Brilliant Elf engineer: all find in this project a message of hope, a way of obtaining the recognition they dream of. Louis Farge continues his way as a director in the television world after the series Worship which tells the behind the scenes of the famous reality TV show, Loft story. Marie Columbus also embodies the character of Loana. Karim Leklou (A prophet,, The world is yours And Northern tank) is also a regular in this format thanks to his participation in the series Hippocrates by Thomas Lilti. Awarded a Caesar for its performance in Jim’s novel Dardenne brothers during the last ceremony, he replied to Jérémie Renier (Cloclo And Saint Laurent) in this new fiction. The actor knows the camera of Belgian directors Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne well since he made in four of their films: The child,, Lorna’s silence,, The kid at the bicycle And The unknown girl (With Adèle Haenel), available right now on Arte.

Karim Barras, David Marsais, Patrick Chesnais, George Siatidis and Stéphane Guillon complete the casting. The shooting of the series began on March 17. It will take place in Belgium and Côte d’Ivoire before ending on June 10. The series Eldorado is a Franco-Belgian co-production between Top-the Originals Production and Beside Productions, supported by the CNC and Wallimage. It should see the light of day at the end of 2025 or early 2026 on Arte.
