The new animated film Asterix: The Kingdom of Nubia reveals its first teaser
An untold story of the famous Gallic hero for the Christmas holidays.
Asterix will soon make his return in live action, presumably in an adaptation of the Twelve Labors directed by Jonathan Cohen, filming of which is scheduled for 2026. In the meantime, the character created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo returns to the cinema with a new animated family film, which will be released on December 2 in anticipation of the Christmas holidays.
Asterix: The Kingdom of Nubia tells a unique adventure, written by the duo Alexandre de La Patellière and Matthieu Delaporte (The Count of Monte Cristo). Synopsis:
The “diehard” Gauls were transformed into harmless children by an elixir of youth, accidentally poured into the magic potion of Panoramix. Asterix and Obelix then set off on a journey to the distant kingdom of Nubia, in order to find an antidote and save their village threatened by the Romans.
Directed by Frenchman Alexandre Heboyan. Graduated from Gobelins and worked at Dreamworks, where he worked as an animator on Kung Fu Panda And Monster vs. Aliens, he co-signed the feature film Mune: Guardian of the Moon (2014).
On the vocal side, we find Christian Clavier as Asterix and Bernard Alane as Panoramix, as in The Secret of the Magic Potion (2018), but it is now François-Xavier Demaison who doubles Obélix.
