Let’s start filming season 3 of The Last of Us!

Some images were stolen from around the set and offer a first glimpse of two key characters in this new chapter: Abby Anderson and Lev.

In these images captured during filming, Kaitlyn Dever (Abby) and Kyriana Kratter (Lev) appear in costume, filming a tense sequence on a roof, surrounded by a small crew.

Filming for this third season of The Last of Us began in March 2026 and is expected to continue throughout the year.

But above all, these new images confirm a major narrative shift. This season 3 should place Abby at the center of the story, following the structure of the game The Last of Us Part II. As a reminder, the previous season ended on a brutal cliffhanger, leaving Ellie’s fate in suspense after her confrontation with Abby.

Kaitlyn Dever will therefore lead the dance from Abby’s point of view, while Bella Ramsey and Isabela Merced will return. On the casting side, we will also find Jason Ritter, Patrick Wilson and Clea DuVall, while Jorge Lendeborg Jr. will play Manny.

Behind the scenes, a major change: Craig Mazin takes sole creative control after the withdrawal of Neil Druckmann from writing and directing.

This season 3 of The Last of Us is expected in 2027, on HBO Max in France.
