Donald Glover promises: “The Community movie is coming soon”
“I swear I’m not lying…”
Eleven years after the end of Communitythe promise of a film continues to make fans salivate… and to exhaust some of them. But this time, Donald Glover swears it’s the right one.
Invited to speak about the project, the actor assures that the film is indeed moving forward:
“We were just talking about it just now in our discussion group. We’re working on it at the moment. I know everyone has been saying that for years, but I swear I’m not lying. I really think it’s going to happen soon!”

A declaration which revives hope around this sea serpent announced since 2022 by Peacock, without any camera having yet filmed.
Meanwhile, the famous prophecy “six seasons and a movie” – launched by Abed (played by Danny Pudi) in season 2 – has become a real mantra for fans.
It must be said that the project came close to becoming a reality on several occasions. Co-writer Andrew Guest recently revealed: “We were very close to filming. After the end of the 2023 strikes, the entire cast was available and ready to go. We had a producer, a script being rewritten… but the project of one of the actors complicated everything in terms of timing.”
But Dan Harmon and his actors never gave up on the idea. And if we are to believe Donald Glover, this time, the film Community has never been closer to becoming a reality.
