A duel of Skarsgard brothers to play Lex Luthor in the next Superman?
Alexander and Bill Skarsgård would be the favorites to play villains in Superman: Legacy…
The cast of Superman: Legacy takes its course in Hollywood. The magazine The Hollywood Reporter recounts the screen tests currently being carried out by the production and James Gunn. Confirming the latest rumors, he announces that Nicholas Hoult, David Corenswet and Tom Brittney are the main candidates for the role of Clark Kent / Superman, while Emma Mackey, Rachel Brosnahan and Phoebe Dynevor are at the end of auditions to play Lois Lane. As the process progressed, these last tests were carried out with make-up and clothes, to be already in the role.
The casting of Lex Luthor would also have started in parallel. Nicholas Hoult was interested in playing the DC villain but might end up under Clark Kent’s glasses instead. If he is not Luthor, the production would have set its sights on the Skarsgård!
Alexander Skarsgard And Bill Skarsgard would be the two favorites in line to play Lex. Stellan Skarsgård’s first son would make an older Luthor. He is 46 years old and his career has been spectacular on the small screen, since True Blood until Succession Passing by Big Little Lies. Bill would make a younger Luthor. He’s only 32 and has mostly shone under the Pennywise clown makeup of the latest movies That And It: Chapter 2 At the movie theater. He was also in John Wick: Chapter 4 recently.
As a bonus, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the production of Superman: Legacy is in the process of casting actors to play the superheroes of The Authority (Jenny Quantum, Jack Hawksmoor, Midnighter…), a team of avengers who will already be acting in Metropolis when Clark arrives…
Superman: Legacy is set to begin filming by 2024. Theatrical release is scheduled for two years from now, on July 9, 2024.
