A Sopranos star joins Grey’s Anatomy for the rest of season 22

Jamie-Lynn Sigler, unforgettable Meadow Soprano, Tony’s daughter, will don a white coat.

New strong recruit at Gray Sloan.

According to Deadline, actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler, unforgettable Meadow, Tony’s daughter in The Sopranos, will appear in episode 8 of season 22, broadcast on January 15, 2026 in the United States.

The actress will play Dr. Laura Kaplan, a urologist suffering from multiple sclerosis, called to Gray Sloan by Catherine Fox. She will cross paths with Richard Webber, recently diagnosed with cancer. According to the American media, the episode will feature an intimate discussion between the two doctors, with Kaplan bringing “his unique perspective” on the disease.

The role was specially written for Jamie-Lynn Sigler — an obvious choice, as her fight against multiple sclerosis is well known: diagnosed at the age of 20, after a first medical error, the actress hid her illness for a long time before revealing it in 2016.

The series, faithful to its DNA, nevertheless wants to avoid reducing the character to his diagnosis. As Deadline points out, Kaplan “is not defined by her affection and leads a full life, as well as a career.” An approach that Sigler herself defended, recalling in People in 2023: “I live a very full life” and that the disease even gave her “the superpower of vulnerability”.
