Algerian actress Biyouna died this Tuesday from lung cancer. She was 73 years old.

The Algerian channel Ennahar TV specifies that the actress returned to Beni Messous hospital in Algiers on November 4: “She was first admitted to Beni Messous hospital in the pulmonology department, before being transferred to Aïnoum hospital in the capital. The actress Baya Bouzar (her real name, editor’s note) suffered from acute respiratory distress, in addition to difficulty properly oxygenating her brain due to a drop in her respiratory capacity. She also suffered from complications related to the cancer she had suffered from since 2016.

Real name Baya Bouzar, Biyouna was an unclassifiable figure on the Franco-Algerian scene, appearing in cinema, television and singing with the energy that characterized her.
