After Alain Delon, The Leopard returns to Netflix in a major series remake
The novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa will be entitled to a new adaptation, but this time for the small screen.
Alain Delon will not have had time to see the young Italian actor Saul Nanni reprise the role of Tancrède Falconeri. The Cheetah (1963) will be entitled to a new adaptation. Netflix unveils the first trailer for its flamboyant epic set in Sicily during the revolutionary period of the 1860s, adapted from the novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa.
“The series tells the story of Don Fabrizio Corbera, Prince of Salina, who leads a life of privilege in a world where beauty reigns. But at the dawn of the unification of Italy and the disappearance of old aristocratic order, he understands that the future of his family is threatened. He will have to forge new alliances, each putting his principles in danger. It was the Italian production studio Indiana Production which recovered the rights. The idea is not to remake the film, but above all to explore the “details of the book which are not shown in the work of Luchino Visconti“.
The series The Cheetah will be available in 2025 on Netflix. No date yet.
