Angelina Jolie and Louis Garrel at Alice Winocour: First seam images
The French director presents her new feature film at the Toronto Festival.
Alice Winocour continues to trace her journey in the world of cinema. Three years after the overwhelming Review Pariswhich had earned Virginie Efira the César for best actress, the French director will do the event at the Toronto Festival with her new film, Sewingworn by Angelina Jolie.
Accustomed to TIFF, where she presented most of her feature films (including Proxima With Eva Green), the 49 -year -old filmmaker changes univers to immerse us this time in the Parisian fashion world with Sewingwhere we will follow an American director, Maxine (pretty). Coming to the French capital to shoot a video during Fashion Week, she considers “useless” fashion, details the festival site, but accepts this lucrative opportunity for financial reasons.
In the midst of a divorce and confronted with a health problem, Maxine meets two women: Angèle (Ella Rumpf), a makeup artist who writes a novel based on her experience in this industry, and Ada (Anyier Anei, photo above), an Egyptian student in pharmacy who arrives in modeling after being “discovered”.
Angeline Jolie will also share the poster of Seam With sizes of French cinema, including Louis Garrel in the role of his cinematographer and Vincent Lindon in that of his doctor, who will also be patient Aurore Clément. Garance Marillier and Finnegan Oldfield had also been put forward in the casting when the project was announced last year.
The Toronto festival will be held from September 4 to 15. Sewing does not yet have an release date at the cinema.
