Building on the success of Dune, Timothée Chalamet becomes the Messiah of Warner Bros.

Like Tom Cruise, the Wonka actor signs an actor and producer deal with the studio.

At the very beginning of the year, David Zaslav, Michael Lucca and Pam Abdy were very proud to announce the signing of a big contract with Tom Cruise, to develop within Warner Bros. joint projects with the star of Impossible mission, both as an actor and producer. Box full of cardboard Top Gun: Maverick in theaters, Cruise took the opportunity to highlight the fact that this collaboration would concern works intended for cinema, and not series or streaming films.

Now it is Timothée Chalamet who signs this same type of deal with the firm. It must be said that he has just participated in two studio successes in quick succession: at Christmas, he topped the world box office thanks to Wonkathe Paul King film which crossed the 600 million dollar mark worldwide, and for the past month, it's thanks to Dune 2 that it is a hit: this sequel, still designed by Denis Villeneuve, has grossed 575 million, and its score is still growing.

At only 28 years old, the actor is therefore committed to participating primarily in Warner Bros. films, even if he officially has the right to film for other studios. The firm will submit all kinds of projects to him, and Chalamet will be able to ask for a salary of more than 10 million dollars if he commits as an actor: he had received 8 for Wonkabut given the success it has had since its release, he saw his rating soar in Hollywood.

“We are very happy that Timothée Chalamet has chosen our studio as his creative home, immediately reacted Pam Abdy and Michael Lucca, who supervise its cinema branch. In recent years, we have admired his boundless dedication to this art. He has obvious talent, which he has shown in deep and very different roles, and he devotes all his attention to each project he undertakes, whether within Warner Bros. or elsewhere. He always gives 100%. The way in which he collaborated in the promotion of Dune and of Wonkathis is something we have all enjoyed immensely, the results of these campaigns speak for themselves.”

Taking care ofavoid superhero movieson the advice of Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet has been building a rich career for around ten years, alternating between independent films (Lady Bird, Call Me By Your Name…) and blockbusters (Intersellerthe saga Dune…). It is currently filming in A Complete Unknownthe Bob Dylan biopic under the direction of James Mangold (Le Mans 66, Logan…).
