Dave Bautista will be the big villain of the new Highlander against Henry Cavill
He will play the Kurgan, an emblematic immortal and emblematic, in this new version of the cult film, directed by Chad Stahelski.
The reboot of Highlander Continue to reveal itself, and a new weight name has just joined the cast.
DAVE BAUTISTA, star actor franchises Dune And The guards of the galaxy will lend his features to the Kurgan, the overpowered immortal which served as a principal antagonist in the original film of 1986, facing Christophe Lambert. He was embodied at the time by Clancy Brown.
Bautista will face Henry Cavill, who will play the role of Connor Macleod, the hero immortal. Alongside them, Russell Crowe is also announced in the casting, in a role still held secret but described as “key”. Certainly that of the mentor.
This new Highlander is produced by Chad Stahelski, to whom we owe the saga John Wick. Initially developed at Lionsgate, the project is now carried by Amazon MGM Studios, with a set planned for the fall. No official release date has yet been set, but Stahelski had mentioned a possible arrival in 2027 or 2028.
If the intrigue of this reboot remains confidential for the moment, the film should be inspired by the main lines of the classic of the 80s: immortals waged a secret war through the centuries, to the final fight where “There can only be one.”
