The 82nd foreign press ceremony in Hollywood awarded four prizes to Jacques Audiard’s film. The Brutalist is the other winner of the evening.

The holidays aren’t quite over yet for Jacques Audiard. With his film Emilia Pérezthe French director is well on his way to experiencing a few crazy weeks until the Oscars, at the end of next February. The triumph of his musical last night at the Golden Globes 2025 (after his victories at the European Film Awards in December) proves that his film will indeed be one of the heavyweights of future ceremonies.

At the 82nd Hollywood Foreign Press Evening, held in Los Angeles, Emilia Pérez won four trophies including Best Comedy or Musical Film. This is the first victory for a French film in this category since The Artist in 2011. Emilia Pérez also won the trophy for Best Foreign Film, succeeding another French film, Anatomy of a Fallcrowned last year. On the other hand, Jacques Audiard lost the Best Screenplay trophies against Conclave (Peter Straughan) and Best Director against The Brutalist (Brady Corbett).
