End of filming: Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe say goodbye to Outlander

More than a decade later, they leave Jamie and Claire Fraser behind.

11 years, 8 seasons, 101 episodes! Outlander finished filming its final season this Friday. An event full of emotion for all the actors and executive producers, who posted lots of farewell photos (via Instagram) from the set in Scotland.

“Today marks the last day of filming for the final season of Outlander. Words cannot express the gratitude owed to every member of the cast and crew who worked hard to bring this incredible series to life and to every fan who supports it with passion, creativity and dedication. Outlander is truly more than just a show, it’s a family, and even though filming is ending, there is so much more to this journey that is only just beginning.”

We obviously see in these photos Sam Heughan And Caitriona Balfeaka Jamie and Claire Fraser. We also see Sophie Skelton (Brianna), Richard Rankin (Roger), David Berry (Lord John), John Bell (Young Ian), Charles Vandervaart (William), Izzy Meikle-Small (Rachel), Lauren Lyle (Marsali) and Cesar Domboy (Fergus), Diarmaid Murtagh (Buck) and executive producers Matthew B. Roberts And Maril Davis.

If they are finished, fans still have a while: the second half of season 7 will be broadcast from Friday, November 22. Then we will see season 8 which will conclude Outlander. No date has yet been set.
