Good news for Constantine 2: the script is ready
Even if the producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura does not dare to read it yet.
Under construction for almost two years, Constantine 2 is slowly but surely continuing its development. It is still unknown when the sequel to the 2005 film, led by Keanu Reevesbut we know that she now has a script!
This is the producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura who tells ComicBook that the script is finished… but he hasn’t read it yet!
“You know, the script arrived in my mailbox and it’s waiting for me to open it… It’s pretty crazy because I’m too scared to read it actually! I want it to be good so much that I don’t dare open it. I’ll probably read it in the next few days. When I take a plane or something…”
Apparently, this is a first version of the script, which will still need to be reworked before moving on to casting and filming. Constantine 2 is therefore not for tomorrow.
We don’t know what it will be about, but the director Francis Lawrence said last year that he wanted to make a totally violent sequel, rated R-R (in the USA): “I don’t want to follow the rules to make a PG-13 movie in terms of violence, blood, language, sexuality, like they did with the first one. My big, big regret is that we made a PG-13 movie… and it still came out R-Rated in theaters!”
