Henry Cavill in Warhammer 40,000, it’s confirmed!
Games Workshop is preparing a series with Amazon around this famous video game universe.
It’s already been a year since Henry Cavill expressed his desire to film in a series derived from Warhammer 40,000, a video game of which he is a fan. Since then, the actor left The Witchera Netflix series in which he was heavily invested, as well as the role of Superman for the DCU, currently being renewed by James Gunn and Peter Safran.
GamesRadar is now relaying an update from Games Workshop, which comes “to finalize its agreement with Amazon Studios to bring this popular game to the screen.” Nothing more is confirmed, neither creative team, nor casting, nor the cost of producing the show in question… except that Cavill intends to co-produce this project in addition to being the star and that Prime Video would like to invest large sums to make this series an event.

Clearly, we will have to wait a little for the show to Warhammer 40,000 become reality, but the deal has been signed between the studio producing the games and the one producing the series, and Cavill is still enthusiastic about joining this franchise. “I spend a lot of time on my computer playing Warhammer 40K“, confided the actor in 2021 in First. When he first mentioned this project, he wrote on his account Instagramin December 2022: “For 30 years I have dreamed of seeing the universe of Warhammer be transposed into live action. Now, after 22 years in this industry, I believe I have finally acquired enough talent to help bring a Warhammer Cinematic Universe to life.”
As its title suggests, the story of Warhammer 40,000 tells of a huge conflict and takes place 40,000 years in the future. A future where humans are locked in an endless war with aliens and magical beings. Before being released into a video game, it was originally a board game with figurines.
