“When you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you…”sang Frank Sinatra. A mantra echoed in this new trailer for Joker: Madness for Twowhich the public will be able to discover in theaters from October 2, exactly five years after the first opus was a huge success.
Jokeralready directed by Todd Phillips, had earned more than a billion dollars in revenue worldwide, despite a ban for under 17s in the United States. For this sequel, still R-Rated but this time designed in a more musical way, the anti-hero played by Joaquin Phoenix is joined by Lady Gaga who plays a Harley Quinn inspired by Arthur Fleck’s out-of-the-ordinary personality, ready to do anything to team up with him… and make him fall in love with her?
Joker: Folie à deux will be “a musical jukebox”
The singer and actress ofA Star is Born will play a role here that is visibly as important as that of the Joker: she is very present in this trailer, which also briefly shows Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin) as reinforcement. Catherine Keener (Get Out) and Zazie Beetz (already in the first part) will also be in the cast of Joker: Madness for Twowhich has just been selected at the Venice Film Festivalin competition.
