Jurassic World 4 is in sight… from the original writer of Jurassic Park
David Koepp, who adapted Michael Crichton, is working on writing a new opus of the dino saga.
Obviously, this species is not yet extinct! Even if the trilogy Jurassic World is over, Universal is not going to let disappear a franchise which brought in 6 billion dollars at the worldwide box office (not counting the crazy revenues from derivative products and other theme parks…). Yes, the dinos will return and the studio has decided to start from the roots, by hiring David Koep to write the new opus, which will technically be a Jurassic World 4.
David Koepwho had adapted the Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton in 1993 for Steven Spielberg (the writer had helped him), and who had signed the script of Lost World (again according to Crichton), is writing a brand new script intended to launch a new era for the franchise, according to Variety.
We don’t yet know if the old stars will return: Chris Pratt? Bryce Dallas Howard? Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum? For the moment, Universal has not said what it plans to do, but the studio has still taken over some pillars of the saga, such as producer Frank Marshall who will supervise behind the scenes, while Steven Spielberg will serve as executive producer through his company Amblin Entertainment. Obviously, he will not be the director. No name has yet been released for the staging.
The last opus of the saga, Jurassic World: The World Afterwas released in 2022.
let’s remember that David Koep also wrote the first episodes of the franchises Impossible mission And Spidermanbut we also owe him the screenplay forIndiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
While waiting to know what sauce we will be eaten with in the next Jurassic Worldthe franchise continues on console with Survivala video game whose story takes place a few minutes after the end of the very first Jurassic Park…
