Karin Viard fights in La Maison des femmes: trailer
A film with a strong subject, also carried by Laetitia Dosch, Oulaya Amamra, Eyé Haïdara and Juliette Armanet.
Mélisa Godet directs her first emotional feature film.
The filmmaker and screenwriter continues her exploration of human feelings through marginalized protagonists, damaged beings. After the short films You’re going to get used to it (with Lola Felouzis and Catherine Sparta) and Oma’s children (with Marie Gillain, Noémie Schmidt and Oussama Kheddam) which featured characters confronted with their own abysses and evolving in a difficult social framework, Mélisa Godet tackles other victims: women victims of violence.
The Women’s House is directly inspired by the emblematic place created in 2016 by Ghada Hatem-Gantzer, those who bring it to life and the trajectories that inhabit it. Without flirting with documentary, the director uses fiction to tell very real social situations.
For her first feature film, Mélisa Godet has a 5-star cast. We will find Karin Viard (sweet song), Laetitia Dosch (The Battle of Solferino), Oulaya Amamra (Divine), Eye Haidara (The Women of the Square), Juliette Armanet (Leave one day), Pierre Deladonchamps (The Stranger of the Lake) and Laurent Stocker of the Comédie française (Together is everything).
Synopsis: At the Women’s House, between care, listening and solidarity, a team fights every day to support women victims of violence in their reconstruction. In this unique place, Diane, Manon, Inès, Awa and their colleagues welcome, support and restore confidence. Together, with their strengths, their weaknesses, their convictions and inexhaustible energy.
The Women’s House will be released on March 4 in French theaters. Trailer:
