Mufasa reveals himself in the sublime trailer for the new Lion King
The prequel film dedicated to the youth of Simba's father promises to be magnificent.
Rafiki speaks. The young baboon introduces us to this lion who will “change our lives forever”, in the sumptuous trailer for Mufasaa.k.a The Lion Kingthe real one, before Simba (see below).
Rafiki will pass on his legend to Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, in the new Disney prequel film, which will tell the story of how a lion cub “born without an ounce of nobility in him”will become the king of the savannah.
“Told in the form of flashbacks, the story presents Mufasa as a little orphan, lost and alone until he meets a friendly lion named Taka, the heir to a royal lineage” details the synopsis. “This chance encounter sparks the vast journey of an extraordinary group of misfits in search of their destiny. Their bonds will be tested as they work together to escape a menacing and deadly enemy.”
In the vocal casting, we will find (in VO) Aaron Pierre in the role of Mufasa and Kelvin Harrison Jr.. in the role of Taka. Tiffany Boone will be Sarabi while Kagiso Lediga will come back to overtake Rafiki. Mads Mikkelsen will play Kiros, a fearsome lion with big plans. Seth Rogen And Billy Eichner will come back to do Timon and Pumbaa. In the rest of the cast, Donald Glover will take on the role of Simba and Beyonce will play Nala.
Made by Barry Jenkinsthe film will also be a musical with new songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Encanto).
Mufasa: The Lion King will, like the 2019 live-action film that remakes the 1994 Disney classic, mix live-action filmmaking techniques with photorealistic computer-generated images. Mufasa: The Lion King will be released on December 18, 2024 in theaters in France.
