Kat Dennings was scanned by Marvel: ‘They can put me in anything they want now’

The interpreter of Darcy confides in passing that she is not in Avengers: Doomsday.

It’s a funny revelation made by a Marvel actress, about the studio’s methods.

Kat Dennings said Entertainment Tonight that Marvel had simply scanned his appearance in order to be able to use him in future MCU projects.

A statement that comes when he was questioned about Darcy’s possible participation in Avengers: Doomsday. True to his deadpan humor, Dennings initially pretended not to understand: “What is ‘Doomsday’? Oh, Avengers: Doomsday…

She then continues with a balancing act that has become classic among Marvel actors: “I’m in the Marvel Universe and, as you know, I can’t say anything. But I’m not there. Well… I’m not there. I’m telling you clearly, I’m not in the film. If I were there — which is not the case — I wouldn’t be able to say it, but there, literally, I’m not there. I’m sure they’ve already filmed. I was here, on the set of my new series, so I’m not in it.”

In the process, he specifies, almost nonchalantly:

“But they scanned me, so to be honest, they can put me in whatever they want now. I’m in their system.”

A funny revelation, which suggests that the studio could use the image of its actors and actresses – via AI – without even including them in a casting…

Kat Dennings has been a part of the MCU since Thor in 2011, where she played Darcy Lewis. She reprized the role in Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Love and Thunder and especially in WandaVisionwhich gave him a remarkable return from the public. More recently, she still lent her voice to the character in the animated series What If…?appearing in four episodes.

For the moment, the future of Darcy Lewis in the Marvel universe remains unclear, as does the use that the studio could make of this famous digital version of the actress.

Avengers: Doomsday will be released on December 16, 2026 in cinemas in France.
