Lost In The Night: trailer for Amat Escalante’s new thriller
Ten years after Heli, the Mexican director was selected at Cannes last May.
10 years ago, Amat Escalante presented Heli at the Cannes Film Festival. The director was then nominated 8 times and walked away with the directing prize. Last May, he was back on the Croisette with his sixth feature film, Lost In The Night (Lost at nightin original version), presented in the official selection (Cannes Première).
This new thriller, co-written with his brother Martín Escalante and Paulina Mendoza, takes place in a small town in Mexico. It follows Emiliano, a young man searching for those responsible for his mother’s disappearance. “An environmental activist, she opposed the local mining industry. Receiving no help from the police or the justice system, his research leads him to the wealthy Aldama family”specifies the official synopsis.
The film is carried by Juan Daniel García Treviñowho plays Emiliano, but also Ester Exposito (Elite), Barbara Mori (Ruby) And Fernando Bonilla. Lost In The Night will be released in theaters on October 4. Trailer :
