Marvel Zombies: Yes, a season 2 is already in the pipes
The director of the Disney Plus series, Bryan Andrews, explains the final and his ambitions for the future.
On Wednesday release on Disney+, the mini-series Marvel Zombies offered four bloody, gore and completely barred episodes. But the post-apocalyptic universe of zombified superheroes is far from having delivered all its secrets. Could a suite see the light of day?
Director Bryan Andrews does not hide that the team still has a lot of material under the elbow. For first, it reveals:
“There are lots of ideas that we did not have time to stage in these four episodes. Even more horrible, wilder, more trashy things. Maybe we can use them in the future …”
Yes, the producers of Marvel Zombies did not use everything in these four episodes and have in mind to return with a season 2.
Especially since the end of Marvel Zombies does not provide all the answers.
Attention spoilers!
During the final confrontation, Kamala Kahn seems to be caught up in the red witch, who became a queen of the living dead. But she mysteriously wakes up in New York, surrounded by Kate Bishop and Riri Williams, as if nothing had happened.
What should we understand from the end of Marvel Zombies?
We asked the director to the director and his answer is intentionally evasive:
“It’s really to everyone’s appreciation … Maybe Wanda projects a fantasized life in Kamala’s mind … or something else. The end leaves the question unanswered, and that’s fine.”
In others, terms, if the end is blurred, it is made on purpose: it is an open end, which will find its resolution in a possible season 2 of Marvel Zombies … not yet ordered.
The executive producer Brad Winderbaum confirms and assures in Nerdist that the team is already projects and that the series still has a lot of playing cards: “There are some characters that I can’t wait to explore. There are still a lot of characters to use …”
The zombies of the MCU have not yet said their last word.
