Ncuti Gatwa as Doctor Who: new photos from the 2023 Christmas special

The 15th Doctor will take up residence in the TARDIS at the end of the month.

While David Tennant will be the Doctor again tomorrow on Disney Plus, in the second episode of the 60th anniversary trilogy special Doctor Whothe BBC already has an eye on the sequel. Ncuti Gatwa will be the 15th official Doctor in the process, and it will begin with a Christmas special.

This Christmas episode entitled “The Church on Ruby Road” will be broadcast on December 25, and the BBC reveals a preview unveils new images, with these comments from Russell T. Davies, new showrunner:

“From day one, I knew I wanted Doctor Who returns on Christmas Day! And with Ncuti, Millie, Davina and the Goblin King, I hope it will be a feast for the whole family!”

According to the synopsis of “The Church on Ruby Road”, the Doctor “will come face to face with the mythical and mysterious goblins as his life crosses paths with Ruby Sunday. Little is known about Ruby Sunday, as she has abandoned on Christmas Eve as a baby. Now living with her mother, Carla, and grandmother, Cherry, her world is about to turn upside down…”

This Christmas episode of Doctor Who will be seen in France on Disney +.
