New revelations about season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again
We learn that, if Jessica Jones returns, it is because the story will touch on something deeply “personal” for her.
After a successful first season, where will season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again go?
In the latest issue of the English magazine Empire, the producers take stock. Showrunner Sana Amanat says the team approached this season with a feeling of “total freedom.” She assures that the ground was “completely opened” by Marvel, for all avenues, and that this allowed them “to do exactly what they wanted”.
This season follows Matt, still weakened after taking a bullet intended for Fisk, as he begins to build what Amanat describes as an “army of vigilantes”.
Still according to Empire, Fisk will be back as mayor of New York, “at the height of his power”. He launches his “Safer Streets” initiative, a program intended to crush masked vigilantes. Amanat then asks the central question: what happens to Fisk when he obtains absolutely everything he wanted? Is that enough for him? Or will he start to “grip his treasure too tightly”, at the risk of destroying everything?
It is in this new context that Krysten Ritter returns as Jessica Jones, with an ultimately very intimate motivation. Amanat points out that Jones “isn’t really a team player.” If she comes back, she says, it is “because this matter is extremely personal for her”.
She adds that Jessica brings “a rawer, lighter energy,” capable of cutting through the darkness and drama specific to Daredevil: she “cuts to the chase in a really fun way.” His presence will establish a direct personal link in the conflict between Matt and Fisk.
Incidentally, Empire also revealed a new visual for season 2, offering a first glimpse of Charlie Cox’s brand new costume: a black outfit adorned with the Daredevil emblem, strongly inspired by the look that the hero sports in the Shadowland period (2010) of Marvel Comics, where he flirted dangerously with the role of antagonist.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will arrive in March 2026 on Disney+/

“We were like, “We can do whatever we want,” producer Sana Amanat tells Empire. “That was so liberating.”
