New trailer and new images of young Sherlock seen by Guy Ritchie
Before he was Sherlock Holmes of Baker Street, who was the young boy in 1870s Oxford?
He’s a literary character who never ceases to fascinate Guy Ritchie!
The director returns to Sherlock Holmes to look at the youth of the famous detective imagined by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, almost fifteen years after his last Sherlock at the cinema – Game of Shadows in January 2012. Prime Video has just unveiled a brand new trailer (below) with new images.
Guy Ritchie directs and produces this new series designed as an “irreverent and action-packed thriller, which traces the first adventures of the iconic detective. Sherlock Holmes is a fallen, raw and unfiltered young man, when he finds himself embroiled in a murder case that threatens his freedom. His very first investigation reveals a conspiracy on a global scale, leading to an explosive confrontation that will change his life forever. Set in the Oxford of the 1870s, then over adventures abroad, the series reveals the youthful escapades of this anarchic teenager, before he becomes the most famous resident of Baker Street.”
Hero Fiennes Tiffin (young romantic star of the After saga) plays the young Sherlock Holmes in this thrilling, irreverent and very action-oriented story. With all the spirit and panache of Ritchie’s films, Young Sherlock reinvents the beginnings of the detective imagined by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Irish actor Dónal Finn (The Wheel of Time) will play James Moriarty, Sherlock’s future sworn enemy… but apparently still an ally at this time.
The rest of the cast brings together Zine Tseng (The Three-Body Problem), Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale), Natascha McElhone (Halo), Max Irons (Condor) and Colin Firth (The King’s Speech).
The series, consisting of eight episodes, will launch on Prime Video on March 4, 2026.
