Ridley Scott’s Napoleon: The Director’s Cut is finally available in France
The biopic of the Emperor with Joaquin Phoenix, which is now 3h24, is available on VOD on Apple TV+.
Released online in the USA on August 29, the Director’s Cut of Napoleon with Joaquin Phoenix And Vanessa Kirby is now available in France completely legally, on the Apple TV+ website. But for now only in digital purchase. It will therefore cost you 17 euros, the price of a DVD (the cinema version is available for rental at 5 euros). Ridley Scott spoke to the whole world about this new long version cut before the film’s theatrical release in November 2023: here it is with 48 minutes more, for a total duration of 3h24, while the cinema version – not very well received by critics – was 2h37.
Does that seem long to you? It’s the same duration as Killers of the Flowers Moon by Martin Scorsese, another Apple production, or that The Director’s Cut of the first part of Rebel Moon by Zack Snyder released this summer. By the way, it’s ten minutes longer than the famous Director’s Cut of Kingdom of HeavenSir Ridley’s great fresco on the Crusades, so much better in the long versione. So, to your screens, and we’ll meet up in 3 hours and 24 minutes to talk about it?
