Riz Ahmed future James Bond? Prime Video unveils the first images of Bait
In this new comedy, he will play an actor carried away by the 007 rumor…
He has been rumored for months as one of the potential candidates to take over the role of James Bond…
And Riz Ahmed (starred in We Are Four Lions, The Night Of and Sound of Metal) plays it admirably to promote his new comedy series Bait, which will be released on Prime Video.
Riz Ahmed plays Shah Latif, a struggling actor looking to make a name for himself when he is offered an exceptional audition.
“The series follows Shah over four crazy days as his life spirals out of control and his family, his ex-love and the entire world become involved in determining whether he is the man for the job,” the official description reads. If we are to believe the teaser below, the audition in question is for the role of 007 and succeeding Daniel Craig. We understand that a simple rumor posted online on an English site will cause a tornado of reactions, starting with that of his own family.
Bait will be available on March 25, 2026, with all six episodes released simultaneously on the platform.
Alongside Riz Ahmed, we will find Guz Khan in the role of Zulfi, Sheeba Chaddha as Tahira, Sajid Hasan as Parvez, Aasiya Shah as Q, Weruche Opia as Felicia and Ritu Arya as Yasmin.
The series is written by Riz Ahmed, who is also executive producer. Bassam Tariq and Tom George direct the episodes.
