What happens to Mel and Jack? The trailer for season 7 of Virgin River

Newlyweds, Mel and Jack pursue their dream of adopting a baby, while old loves smolder and new threats loom… Anyway, we’re back in northern California.

It’s already been over a year since season 6 of Virgin River ended on Netflix.

It’s high time to go back and see what’s become of Mel and Jack.

Netflix has revealed the trailer for season 7 of Virgin River, giving a glimpse of the upcoming challenges of the series’ flagship couple.

Spoiler alert!

Season 6 concluded with Mel and Jack’s marriage, sealing their love after years of ups and downs. The trailer gives a glimpse of the next stage of their life together: the adoption of a child. After facing several trials, including a tragic miscarriage in season 5, Mel and Jack finally get closer to their parental dream thanks to Marley, one of Mel’s patients, who chose the couple as adoptive parents when the original couple gave up.

But the teaser shows that not everything will be simple. After Mel’s emotional announcement to Jack – “She wants us to be the parents of her baby” – Marley makes it clear that she needs time to make her decision. Mel and Jack must then navigate between hope and patience. Mel reminds Jack, “It’s not our baby. Not yet…”

Meanwhile, Season 7 will explore other romances and dynamics: Doc and Hope rekindle their romance, Preacher and Kaia begin a budding relationship, while Lizzie and Denny prepare to become parents, with all the tensions and surprises that entails.

Developed by Sue Tenney based on the novels by Robyn Carr, the series sees Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson reprise their roles.

Season 7 of Virgin River will be available from March 12, 2026 on Netflix.
