“Funny fun” trailer for Ethan Coen’s 1st solo movie
In an interview for Empire magazine, on the occasion of the release of Drive Away Dolls, Ethan Coen hints that a reunion with his brother Joel could come sooner than expected. First of all, he makes it clear that contrary to appearances, neither of the two brothers left to pursue a “solo career”. While he is currently writing a new film starring Tricia Cooke (maybe another “lesbian romance” according to her, which would be part of a trilogy), he could first devote himself to a new project with his brother, 5 years after the release of The Ballad of Buster Scruggssketch film offering several variations on the western genre.
According to World of Reel, the duo would therefore be working on a new film noir. Entitled The Zebra Striped Hearseit would be an adaptation of a novel by American author Ross McDonald, written several years ago, and which tells a detective story, in the purest tradition of their previous films, such as The Big Lebowski, Miller’s Crossing And Fargo.
Ethan Coen did not wish to communicate more information for the moment. His second solo feature film, Drive Away-Dollswill be released in French theaters on October 4.
