The creator of Punisher at the helm of Spider-Man Noir
Steve Lightfoot remains with Marvel to direct the new Prime Video series.
Character appeared in Spider-Man: New Generation (produced by Lord and Miller) in 2019 and in Across the Spider-Verse (in 2022), the Spider-Man Black will be entitled to its Prime Video series in “live action”. Developed by Oren Uziel, it will be co-directed by Steve Lightfoot.
Creator of the Marvel series The Punisher for Netflix in 2017, he remains in the universe and will be the co-showrunner of the next series Spider-Man Black.
The story will take place in its own universe in 1930s New York, in a film noir atmosphere. The main character will be an “older, graying superhero”, but will not be Peter Parker. This will mark a significant change from the comics where the character of Spider-Man Noir is a black version of Peter Parker.
