The Social Network 2 will replay the assault on the Capitol in a spectacular scene
The famous insurrection of January 6, 2021 led by supporters of Donald Trump will be part of Aaron Sorkin’s film.
Aaron Sorkin sees the big picture. The filming of The Social Reckoning — official sequel to The Social Network — began last week in Vancouver, and a first stolen video from the set is already panicking the networks. The Oscar-winning filmmaker recreates nothing more and nothing less than the assault on the Capitol on January 6, 2021, when pro-Trump rioters invaded the US Congress to prevent the certification of Joe Biden’s victory.
Filmed in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery, transformed into the Capitol for the occasion, the sequence shows dozens of extras wearing MAGA caps and brandishing American flags, confronting the police on the steps of the building. A striking insight, which confirms that Sorkin intends to anchor his sequel in the hottest political and digital reality.
