Valeria Bruni Tedeschi responds to Yona Ronzenkier (The trip to Eilat) In There is no shadow in the desert. The film is directed by Yossi Aviram (Dune) and takes place in Israel, during the trial of a Nazi war criminal. Valeria Bruni Tedeschi plays Anna, a writer whose father (Jackie Berroyer) is a survivor of the genocide.
She goes to Tel Aviv to attend the trial of this war criminal and meets Ori by chance (Yona Rozenkier) who claims to be a former childhood sweetheart of whom she has absolutely no memory. A series of circumstances will lead them both on the road in the Israeli desert, where Ori hopes that Anna remembers their past romance.
The film’s trailer promises us a balanced mix between Anna’s memories, her history with Ori and the memory of the Shoah. These subjects being deeply powerful, we can expect poignant scenes and lively acting, all filmed in the fantastic landscapes of the Israeli desert.
There is no shadow in the desert will be released in cinemas on February 28, 2024.
