Tom Hardy will finally return in season 3 of MobLand
After a publicized conflict, the British actor found common ground with the team of the Paramount+ series, paving the way for a third season.
Ultimately, Tom Hardy is not leaving MobLand.
According to information from Variety, the British actor will reprise his role as Harry Da Souza in a potential third season of the Paramount+ detective series.
However, his future seemed very uncertain. After finishing filming season 2, which wrapped last March, Tom Hardy had a falling out with executive producer Jez Butterworth, the studio 101 Studios and several members of the production.
But the conflict, brought out into the public arena at the time – even Helen Mirren got involved by posting a message of support for her playmate – now seems to have defused. The different parties recently met in London to iron out their differences. This meeting would have helped ease tensions and lead to the star’s return to the series, assures Variety. Sources indicate that discussions had already been well advanced for several weeks.
If Paramount+ has not yet officially ordered a season 3, its renewal seems almost certain given the success of the series. Launched last spring, MobLand quickly became the second most watched series in the history of the platform.
Created by Ronan Bennett, MobLand also stars Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and Paddy Considine. The series follows the affairs of the powerful Harrigan crime family, led by Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) and his wife Maeve (Helen Mirren), while Paddy Considine plays their son Kevin.
Season 2 does not yet have a release date.
