The Union is shaping up to be a big spy thriller, set to air on the platform this summer.
It’s not quite the most innovative film of the decade… The Union will tell the story of how an average guy from New Jersey is recruited by his ex-girlfriend from high school to join an international intelligence agency. She will train him to become a spy! A fun and light-hearted action comedy, which is announced below for the summer, on Netflix:
In the genre, we had already seen last year, on Apple TV+, Ghosted by Dexter Fletcher, where Ana de Armas took Chris Evans on a mission. This time, the romantic-spectacular duo will be composed of Mark Wahlberg And Halle Berry.
“Mike, a construction worker from New Jersey, finds himself thrust into the world of espionage and secret agents when his former high school girlfriend, Roxanne, recruits him for an all-important intelligence mission.” details the pitch.
In the casting, we will also see JK Simmons as the agency’s casual boss and Jackie Earle Haley as a villain.
The Union is signed by the British director Julian Farino (Surroundings). Released August 16, 2024 on Netflix.
