Van Helsing to be transformed into a modern detective series
A new TV series in preparation for CBS.
Embodied by Anthony Hopkins at Coppola (in 1992) or by Hugh Jackman in Stephen Sommers’ action film (2004), the professor Abraham Van Helsing has been inspiring Hollywood for decades. The fictional character created by Bram Stoker in the novel Dracula in 1897 will return to us with a new TV series currently in development for the CBS channel.
The series will be a contemporary take on the monster hunter, Dr. Abraham Van Helsing“who uses his uniquely curious mind while working alongside his ex, relentless FBI Special Agent Mina Harker, to solve New York City’s toughest cases.”
A kind of fantastic cop show produced by Rob Doherty, who had already presented Sherlock Holmes up to date with the detective series Elementary.
let’s remember that Van Helsing had already recently been entitled to a modern TV series revisiting the character: Kelly Overton played the granddaughter of Van Helsing in a horror fantasy that lasted five seasons from 2016 to 2021.
We don’t yet know who will play this new incarnation of the gothic hero.
