Vin Diesel reassures fans for Fast & Furious 11: “We found the solution”
Is the road clear for the last opus of the saga?
While the future of Fast & Furious 11 seemed uncertain, now Vin Diesel has come to share an encouraging update discussing the start of the film.
Released in 2023, Fast X marked an explosive new chapter for Dominic Toretto and his “family”, under the direction of Louis Leterrier. But since then, the sequel – supposed to conclude the main saga – has stalled. According to a recent article in Wall Street Journalthe project still did not have a validated script, and most of the actors were not yet officially committed. The reason: budgetary concerns. Universal would have required that the film not exceed 200 million dollars, in order to guarantee comfortable profitability even if the receipts of Fast & Furious 11 were found to be lower than those of Fast X. A dead end.
But Vin Diesel obviously wanted to reassure his fans. On Instagram, the actor published several photos and a video with Michael Moses, marketing manager for Universal Pictures. In one of the photos, Diesel wears a flocked “Fast X Part 2 – Los Angeles Production 2025” t-shirt, suggesting that filming could begin next year. In the video, Moses says on camera:
“We’re drifting with Dom Toretto. We’re planning everything. We found the solution.”
Enough to suggest that the development of the film is finally moving forward. Nothing is official yet, but a priori, the budget concerns have been resolved. Without knowing if Universal has given in and agreed to put in the requested jackpot… or if Diesel and the producers have actually lowered their ambitions.
In any case, Vin Diesel wants to be calm and relaxed. And in another post, he also shared a photo of himself and Tyrese Gibson, accompanied by a simple but symbolic caption: “That brotherly laugh… timeless. #FastX2”.
No official release date has yet been announced by Universal, but the road could finally clear for Fast & Furious 11.
