What awaits you in the film the summer when I became pretty
Creator Jenny Han says more about what fans can expect from this great conclusion.
Summer is not over yet.
A few hours after the broadcast of season 3 of the favorite teen triangle of fans, supposed to be the end of the series, Amazon announced rab: a film will conclude the history of the summer where I became pretty.
But then when does it happen? And what is it going to talk about, now that Belly made his choice?
Creator Jenny Han says more, interviewed by Entertainment Weekly. She explains that the idea is to tell the last “big milestone” in the course of Belly (Lola Tung) after her reunion with Conrad (Briney): “When I was thinking this third season, I realized that Belly’s story was above all a story of passage to adulthood. To tell it fully, it is necessary to show his meeting with Conrad, to see them become adults.”
Because the final of the series has decided. Belly and Conrad met, faithful to the third book of the literary trilogy she had written (We’ll Always Have Summer).
However, the series has slightly changed this romantic meeting: Conrad surprises Belly in Paris for his birthday. After a few moments of embarrassment, arguments and tears, they end up admitting their love. Han insists: “I wanted this meeting to be romantic and passionate, at the height of waiting between these two characters who love each other deeply.”
Why a film rather than a season 4? Han explains:
“Three seasons are enough to tell the story. A fourth would have added too many conflicts and additional stories that the public does not ask. The fans wanted to see Belly and Conrad together, not an entire problem of problems.”
This film should therefore be very romantic, like a walk on the beach one evening in July … But that does not mean that there will be no pitfalls on the path of their Happy End. Jenny Han Tease:
“What’s going on when you go out with your ex’s brother? And that you still have to see him and stay in his life? What is it like? This is what we want to show ..”
So when is it? The designer and the co-showranneuse Sarah Kucsertka has already started writing the film, but he is still in the early stages. Suddenly, for the release date, you will have to wait:
“It’s still too early to talk about it. But I wanted the surprise to be total for fans.”
