Which series were the most watched this season in the United States?

Nielsen has revealed its multiplatform ranking of the most watched series for the 2025-2026 season. And unsurprisingly, Netflix largely dominates the debates thanks to the final season of Stranger Things.

The end of Stranger Things dominated the television season which is ending.

With an average of 32.9 million spectators over 35 days of operation, the final season of Stranger Things finished well at the top of the season’s American audiences. The Netflix phenomenon series succeeds Squid Game, which already occupied first place in the ranking last year.

Since the introduction of Nielsen’s cross-platform rankings, it is now possible to directly compare the performance of series broadcast on traditional television and streaming platforms.

Behind Stranger Things, Netflix also places the crime mini-series His & Hers among the biggest hits of the year. The first series broadcast on a traditional channel then appears with Marshals: the spin-off of the Yellowstone universe broadcast on CBS attracts 20.7 million spectators and becomes the most watched network series of the season.

The Top 10 also welcomes the mainstream crime series Tracker (CBS), High Potential (ABC), the excellent Landman by Taylor Sheridan (Paramount+) and the brilliant medical series The Pitt (HBO Max), but Netflix remains ultra-dominant with the majority of places in the ranking. Logical since its number of subscribers is still much higher than its competitors.

More surprisingly, the two Prime Video behemoths are outside the Top 10. Fallout ranks 11th with 13.3 million spectators while The Boys and its final season only come in 21st place with 9.9 million. The series is even ahead of the indefatigable NCIS, which still attracts 10 million viewers after 23 seasons of good and loyal service.

Further down the rankings, It: Welcome to Derry started well with a 43rd place and 8.4 million spectators. The HBO horror series does even better than two Netflix sureties, Virgin River and The Diplomat, both 58th with 7.3 million.

Season 2 of Paradise, on the other hand, seems to have lost its momentum. The Disney+ series is only in 63rd place with 6.9 million viewers.

Just behind we find the old Grey’s Anatomy (ABC), which is in 67th position with 6.8 million, tied with Emily in Paris (Netflix).

Finally, despite significant critical buzz, Pluribus on Apple TV+ only ranks 80th with 6 million viewers. The series nevertheless precedes the return of Malcolm, which settles for 84th place with 5.8 million spectators on Hulu and Disney+.
