Anaconda: an ultra meta trailer for the new film with Jack Black and Paul Rudd
The duo replayed the cult film of 1997, with the director of a talent in solid gold.
We did not know what to expect after the announcement last year of a remake ofAnaconda. Nanar featuring Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Owen Wilson and Jon Voight in front of a giant snake, the film released in 1997 has become cult over time. But did we want to see a new version, almost 30 years later?
Jack Black and Paul Rudd reveal the trailer for the new film Anacondadirected by Tom Gormican (who recently staged Nicolas Cage in A solid gold talent). And it is a completely very promising meta trip.
The two actors embody in the film two best friends who “have always dreamed of remake of their favorite film of all time, the classic of cinema, Anaconda.“In the midst of the quarantine crisis, they decide to go on the Amazon to carry out their project with a tiny budget.

And, according to Jack Black, Gormican and his co-author, Kevin Etten, “brought the same magic energy and meta to this script and this production. ”
This approach is reminiscent of that of Thunder in the tropicsthe cult comedy by Ben Stiller telling the delirious shooting of a film on the Vietnam War which is found in the middle of a real conflict. Jack Black, accustomed to action comedies, was just one of the actors of the film, alongside Robert Downey Jr.

The star of Jumanji And Minecraft Also explains that he was seduced by the idea of collaborating with Paul Rudd: “This is the main reason that made me want to make this film. I am a big fan of Paul’s work. This guy is too funny“.
And it’s reciprocal: “I love Jack and I was excited to make this film with him. We had done a few little things in the past, and being able to really work together for several months it was fantastic“The two actors notably played the Beatles in a comedy scene Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007).
Thandiwe Newton and Steve Zahn will also be in the casting ofAnacondawhich will be released on December 31 at the cinema in France. We are now waiting for the first trailer that should logically be revealed soon.
