After The Boy and the Heron, Miyazaki is already working on a new film
The vice president of Studio Ghibli has announced that Miyazaki’s next film will not be his last and that he is already returning to the office with new ideas.
The Boy and the Heron is the next film of Hayao Miyazakistar director of Studios Ghibli, specializing in animated films. He is notably the author of the films Spirited away, The Howl’s Moving Castle, Porco Rosso, My Neighbor Totoro And Princess Monoke. While the trailer for his next film The Boy and the Heron was released a few days ago, fans can be reassured to learn that this will not be the director’s last film.

Invited to the Toronto International Film Festival, Junichi Nichiokathe vice-president of Studio Ghibli Declare that Miyazaki already has new ideas for a next project. Fans will have to wait, but this statement is enough to delight all those who feared the octogenarian filmmaker’s retirement.
The Boy and the Heron tells the story of Mahito, an 11-year-old boy who, after the death of his mother in a fire, moves to the countryside with his father. He then meets a heron who will serve as his guide and companion in his questions.
