Blessed be the fruit.

The Handmaid’s Tale saga is not really over.

Six months after the end of the series, today we are announcing the sequel, The Testaments, which will arrive in April 2026, in France on Disney Plus.

Several first images have been revealed, focusing on Ann Dowd, returning in her iconic role as Aunt Lydia, still at the heart of Gilead, years after the events of the original series.

According to the official synopsis, The Testaments — adapted from the novel by Margaret Atwood — tells a coming-of-age story: “A new generation of young women in Gilead must face the dark future that awaits them. For them, growing up in Gilead is all they have ever known, with no tangible memory of the outside world before their indoctrination. Faced with the prospect of forced marriage and a life of servitude, they will have to seek allies, new and old, to help them in their fight for freedom and the life they deserve.”

Chase Infiniti, young star of the film Une Batille après l’autre, will be expected around the corner. She reprises the role of Agnes, adopted daughter of Tabitha and Commander Kyle, aka Hannah Bankole, the first daughter of June Osborne.

The cast also includes Lucy Halliday, Rowan Blanchard (Girl Meets World), Mattea Conforti (Power), Isolde Ardies (Wayward), Shechinah Mpumlwana (Lyla in the Loop) and Birva Pandya (The Umbrella Academy).
