Alien invasion unleashed in new Hope trailer
After creating an event at the Cannes Film Festival, the new film from the Korean director of The Strangers will be released in France in November.
He caused a sensation on the Croisette last May. Presented in official competition at the Cannes Film Festival, Hope quickly established itself as one of the most commented films in the selection thanks to its explosive mix of science fiction, horror and action.
A new, long trailer today confirms the excessive ambitions of Na Hong-jin, the director of The Strangers. On the program: gigantic alien monsters, immense spaceships crashing on Earth, incessant shootouts and a totally frantic pace.
The film takes us to a peaceful fishing village in South Korea, suddenly plunged into chaos when a mysterious creature begins to massacre its inhabitants. Station chief Bum-seok (Hwang Jung-min) and policewoman Sung-ae (Hoyeon) set out in pursuit, while a group of hunters led by Sung-ki (Zo In-sung) also decide to track down the beast in the nearby forest.
Very quickly, the hunt turns into all-out war. On foot, by car or even on horseback, police officers and residents face a multitude of alien creatures in a succession of ever crazier action scenes.
The cast also brings together Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender, proof of the international ambition of the project.
Written and directed by Na Hong-jin, Hope is expected in French cinemas on November 4, 2026. After electrifying Cannes with its 2 hours 40 minutes of furious cinema, the film promises to be one of the great science fiction events of the end of the year.
