Claire Pommet, Catherine Deneuve, Karin Viard… The casting of the film skin is revealed
Léa Domenach, the director of Bernadette, is attacking the successful comics of Hubert and Zanzim.
After being adapted to the theater at the start of the year, with Laure Calamy in the main role, Men’s skin will become a film. Announced in 2023, the project will start its shooting this week under the direction of Léa Domenach, and we discover today its casting of choice (via The French film).
Bookstore phenomenon, the graphic novel skin of a man takes place in Renaissance Italy and tells the story of Princess Bianca whose father decides to marry her with Melchior, his chief of the armies, rather than with the beautiful prince of the neighboring kingdom. His godmother will then send her a family secret, a magical “skin” allowing to take the appearance of a man. She will thus be able to get to know her future incognito husband.
Léa Domenach therefore chose the singer and actress Apple alias Claire Pommet (Silver Venus) for the main role, and Catherine Deneuve, which she had already directed in Bernadettefor that of the godmother. Also seen in Bernadettewhere he played Nicolas Sarkozy (photo above), Laurent Stocker (from the Comédie-Française) will play the king, and Karin Viard the Queen.
Stefan Crépon, Louis Peres (Melchior), Eddy de Pretto, Melha Bedia, Esteban, Gilbert Melki and Paul de Saint Sernin (Prince Charming) complete the casting of the film, produced by Karé Productions and Trésor Films. The shooting will end in November with a release scheduled in 2026 with Diaphana.
Like the play by Léna Breban, a man’s skin should take on a musical comedy, with sung sequences. The original music of the film will be composed by Apple, Eddy de Pretto and Bryce Draw.
