John Wick 5 will not be the continuation, but a “new story”
There will be Keanu Reeves, but the director Chad Stahelski wants to detach himself from the high table and the intrigue which has run from the first part.
The saga John Wick will continue, it’s acted.
Lionsgate recently announced that it had given the green light for a new film. The franchise is too lucrative (it exceeded one billion revenues) to be stopped, despite the final conclusion of episode 4.
So how to continue against and against everything and with Keanu Reeves ? Chad Stahelskihas just released the very first elements of the scenario of John Wick 5which will once again be led by him. And surprise: John Wick 5 will not be a direct sequel to John Wick: Chapter 4 !

In an interview with Empirethe filmmaker said that history would take a whole new direction, without necessarily extending the narrative arc of the first four films.
“John Wick’s saga was pretty well completed”, entrust Chad Stahelski. “So, the only way to make a 5th film is to have a new story that involves John Wick. It’s not a sequel to the high table. John made peace with his sorrow. He was mourning, that’s good. It will be really different, and everyone will see the trailer saying: ‘Damn … I have to see that.'”
Chad Stahelski does not specify where history will be located in the chronology, but obviously, it will take place after the end of Chapter 4. Except that this time, the high table will not be after him to assassinate him and make him pay for his bloody revenge of the first opus.
The director suggested that this new film could actually connect to other projects in progress in the franchise: the prequelled animated series and Under the High Tablethe live-action series. Two universes intended to lay the foundations of the future chapter, after Wick managed to win back his freedom at the end of the fourth film.
“TV series and animation are major priorities. The idea is to explore avenues, test things and use these two projects to propel the ideas of John Wick 5. “
Suffice to say that it is still vague. We will have to wait a little more before seeing the famous trailer. The shooting of John Wick 5 has not yet started.
