Los Delincuentes: A bank employee wants to change his life… by helping himself from a safe (trailer)
This film was nominated for the 2023 Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard selection.
Two bank employees, Román and Morán, live modestly in Buenos Aires. They are tired of routine, which increasingly eats away at their tarnished daily lives. Morán decides to change the situation by stealing a sum equivalent to their lifetime wages. Their destinies are intrinsically linked, for better and worse. During their run, the accomplices will vibrate according to the encounters, to define, together or separately, the boundaries of their freedoms.
“Choose a better life: leave the city, your job, even your family, and settle in the countryside, by the ocean or in the mountains, to abandon yourself to leisure and no longer depend on something or someone“, this is what the filmmaker wanted to talk about Los Delincuentes, Rodrigo Moreno.
Nosostros, The Bodyguard…The films of Rodrigo Moreno were presented and awarded, among others, at the Berlinale, Sundance, Rotterdam, and the Viennale. His work has also been exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum, Lincoln Center, and the Center Pompidou.
Los Delincuentes was presented at the Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard selection. The film of more than 3 hours brings together the cast Daniel Elias, Esteban Bigliardi, Margarita Molfino, German De Silva And Laura Paredes. Rodrigo Moreno looked at his desire to film a fictional story, in the style of a documentary film:
“I wanted to film the city center using the structure and style of a documentary film to have to intervene as little as possible on the street and to be able to capture our characters drowned in the crowd that usually populates the banking district of the city, which we simply call “the financial city”.
Los Delincuentes will be released on March 27, 2024 in theaters.
