Oppenheimer continues to dominate, winning seven BAFTA awards

The BAFTAs, the equivalent of the Césars in the United Kingdom, were held for their 77th edition on February 18, 2024. The two big winners of the evening are Oppenheimerwhich won seven awards and Poor creatures who win five. OUR Justine Triet national and its partner Arthur Harari can be proud to have won the award for best original screenplay for Anatomy of a fall.
Oppenheimer dominated the ceremony by being awarded in the following categories: Best Film, Best Direction awarded to Christopher NolanBest Actor and Best Supporting Actor awarded respectively to Cillian Murphy And Robert Downey Jr.Best Cinematography for the cinematographer Hoyte van HoytemaBest Editing for Jennifer Lame and Best Music for the composer Ludwig Göransson.
Concerning Poor creaturesthe film of Yorgos Lanthimos won the BAFTA for Best Actress, recognizing the masterful performance ofEmma Stone. The four other awards received highlight the aesthetic and visual work of the film and honor the artisans and technicians behind the enchanting and zany universe of this feature film. Shona Heath, James Price And Zsuzsa Mihalek received the prize for Best Decorations and Holly Waddingtonthat of the Best Costumes. Nadia Stacey, Mark Coulier And Josh Weston saw their work rewarded with the prize for Best Makeup and Hairstyles and Simon Hughes won the BAFTA for Best Visual Effects.

The EE Rising Star Award, highlighting an industry hopeful, was awarded to Mia McKenna-Bruce for his performance in How to Have Sex.
Jellyfish and Lobster of Yasmin Afifi And Elizabeth Rufai And Crab Day of Ross Stringer, Bartosz Stanisławek And Aleksandra Sykulak were awarded the BAFTAs for Best Short Film for the first and Best Animated Short Film for the second.
