Star will have no season 2: Video premium cancels the series with Charlotte Gainsbourg
The latest creation by Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino will not have known the success of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Their crazy column on the world of ballet is already stopping.
The first salvation ofStar will also be the last. Curtain.
The ballet series, imagined by the duo Amy Sherman-Palladino And Daniel Palladino (the successful creators of Gilmore Girls And The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), was canceled by Prime Video, despite an initial order of two seasons.
This cancellation comes approximately six weeks after putting the series online at the end of April. The eight episodes had been broadcast suddenly, a strategy of “binge release” which has become rare in the original programming of Amazon.
Star was however a vibrant chronic behind the scenes of the ballet, a tribute to the electric dance, carried by Charlotte Gainsbourg And Luke Kirbyand a Lou de laâge Surprising as a star dancer. The story followed two directors of dance companies, one in New York, the other in Paris, who united to try to save their respective institutions.
Despite very good reviews, a brilliant writing and an effective staging, Star has never managed to find its audience and exist in the ever more saturated universe of productions for the small screen. It will therefore only be entitled to one pirouette. Season 2 which had been ordered will not be done.
