Disney has chosen its Rapunzel for the live-action film

The young Teagan Croft will be the princess with magical hair opposite Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider.

She just has to let her hair grow.

Disney has found its Rapunzel! Paused after the lukewarm reception given to Snow White live-action version in early 2025, the adaptation project of Rapunzel in live action has just been put back on track. And there’s even a casting!

Teagan Croft will play the princess with magical hair on camera. The young Australian actress is not a total unknown. Revealed as Rachel Roth/Raven in the series Titans from DC, Teagan Croft has established herself as one of the rising faces of her generation. She had left her mark on True Spiritwhere she played navigator Jessica Watson, who set off to circumnavigate the world solo at just 16 years old.

Facing her, Milo Manheim will put himself in the shoes of the charming thief Flynn Rider.

He too is not unknown to big-eared fans of the house. Franchise star Zombiesself-confessed showman and noted finalist of Dancing with the Starshe brings to Flynn Rider a mixture of pop energy and capital sympathy. A legacy too, since the actor is the son of Camryn Manheim, winner of an Emmy and a Golden Globe.

Behind the camera, Michael Gracey, already at work on The Greatest Showmanwill take the controls of this live-action adaptation. The screenplay is by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge, Thor: Love and Thunder, I Know What You Did Last Summer).

No release date has been announced yet.

Released in 2010, Rapunzel told the story of the escape of a princess locked in a tower since childhood, saved – or rather taken on board – by an outlaw as clumsy as he is attractive. Carried at the time by the voices of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, the film grossed more than $591 million worldwide.
